90 days of detention

On Monday, lawyers for both parties proposed to Judge Steve Magnan the imposition of a sentence of 90 days in prison. Although she has since been arrested in a case of attempted murder, it is recognized that the accused still has no criminal record, which weighed in the balance of this suggestion.

The defense argued that Sara Terzini, despite the racist insults thrown at her victim, does not have racist values.

“Your pre-sentence report says that you are not racist, that you do not hold these values. And you yourself say that your parents came from Italy, but all that is not very convincing,” underlined Judge Magnan, specifying that he was more sensitive to the serious consumption history of the accused.

“It could have been a sentence much longer than three months, but I understand that we favored rehabilitation,” indicated the magistrate, accepting the parties’ common suggestion.

In addition to her three months of detention, Sara Terzini will be subject to two years’ probation.

Accused of attempted murder

However, the 33-year-old woman may not be at the end of her troubles.

She was arrested at the end of November for an attempted murder of two individuals that occurred on November 3 on Highway 40 near the Le Gendre exit.

According to the authorities, this shooting in broad daylight is linked to the war involving the Blood Family Mafia, the group led by Dave “Pic” Turmel, and bikers criminalized for the control of drug trafficking in the Quebec region. Terzini is accused in this case with four alleged accomplices.

The woman has been detained preventively since her arrest in this case, which is due to return to court next week.
