Part of the country rumbled when Julian Bugier was able to speak with Emmanuel Macron, accompanied by Marie-Sophie Lacarrau. Indeed, on March 22, 2023, the presenter of the JT of France 2 questioned the President of the Republic during a debate on pension reform. Viewers expected the journalist, as well as his colleague, not to be discreet and ask questions that annoy the Head of State. However, for many this did not happen.
The colleague of Anne-Sophie Lapix was even mocked by Philippe Caverivière the day after his interview. The comedian criticized the journalist duo, calling their intervention a “without balls”, “weird”or “school of Drucker”. The chronicler of Léa Salamé in “What an era” even went further by considering himself to be “to committed humor what Marie-Sophie Lacarrau and Julian Bugier are to tough interviews”. However, these criticisms did not affect the presenter of the JT of France 2.

Julian Bugier was able to say everything he thought of Emmanuel Macron
Indeed, when he was invited into the Figaro Buzz TV this Wednesday, July 12, he wanted to respond to Philippe Caverivière and said that his column had “make laugh”. “After tough interviews that are one-sided and where the interviewee doesn’t have time to express themselves, that’s not my way of seeing things”he defended himself before continuing: “We can ask questions with great empathy and benevolence and use reminders appropriately. We do not need to transform the political interview into a systematic fight, to be virulent and aggressive to obtain a speech of truth”.
Julian Bugier, who was recently teased by Anne-Sophie Lapix wearing a military uniform, assured that he was not once censored during his interview: “I asked all the questions I wanted to ask”, he defended himself. This should silence the gossips who doubted it.
