three men sentenced to prison for police station attack

In Val-de-Marne, the Créteil court sentenced this Thursday, August 18, three men, aged 20 to 32, to three and four years in prison for one of them. They were found guilty of having participated in the attack on the Vitry-sur-Seine police station in early August.

These are messages, on several discussion groups of the Snapchat application, which have demonstrated that “the attack on the police officers had been orchestrated by a group of individuals”, ensured the prosecution. Prosecutor Stéphane Hardouin mentioned to him facts “of exceptional gravity” which could have caused “death or infirmity” officials. Two of the three men convicted were already known to the police, for acts of violence with a weapon or drug trafficking.

On the night of Sunday July 31 to Monday August 1, around 1 a.m., several people had thrown molotov cocktails in the courtyard of the Vitry-sur-Seine police station where the police were and fired dozens of firework mortars, in particular on a police vehicle in which the agents had taken refuge. Two civil servants suffered from tinnitus as a result of the attack and had been issued two and four days of temporary total incapacity for work (ITT).
