Three men were placed in police custody in the investigation into the robbery of the Harry Winston jewelry store, avenue Montaigne in Paris, the prosecutor’s office told France Bleu Paris on Saturday April 29, confirming information from BFMTV. The robbery took place last May. Arrested for concealment of organized theft (and not the theft itself), the three men saw their custody extended on Friday.
The arrests took place as part of the investigation into the robbery of Saturday May 18, where “several individuals carrying long weapons used motorcycles to commit their crimes and escape”a police source told franceinfo. The incident took place around 11:40 in the morning, in the Harry Winston jewelry store, on Avenue Montaigne in Paris, in the 8th arrondissement. The robbery did not cause any injuries, but a shot was fired in the air. The damage is estimated at just over 7 million euros.
