In Plogoff in Brittany, three members of a family were swept away by a wave by the sea, in front of the eyes of their three other children. All the inhabitants are obviously in shock.
The family had come to fish Thursday, May 19 in the afternoon on this dike. A place open to the public, a few kilometers from the Pointe du Raz. When a ground swell suddenly swept away the parents and one of their children, aged 12. Warned by walkers, the emergency services were unable to recover the family in time. The three other children who were on the ground were taken care of by psychologists. Friday, May 20, the prefect of Finistère says he is very moved. “Here in Cape Town, the drama of the sea affects everyone”says Philippe Mahé.

The Quimper prosecutor’s office has announced that an investigation into the causes of death has been opened.
