The Iranian women’s revolt has been followed since day one by Iranian families in France. Three people testify to the 20 Hours of France 2 and evoke the hopes aroused in them by this uprising.

These three Iranians residing in France have uprooting in common, and now the same admiration for Iranian youth who are revolting. “These girls who just want to live, who take off their headscarves, who burn them, who dance… I get goosebumps when I see these videos”testifies Mansour Bahrami, former tennis player. “I bow my head to all these women in Iran, and the men who support this movement.” About the photo of Ayatollah Khomeini, present in all school classes in Iran, actress Golshifteh Farahani explains that“We never thought of tearing it up. We tore it up in our head every day, every hour, but we never dared to do it”.

“When I see that, I see that we were a generation pushed into the basements. We had a lot of concerts in the basements, life in the basements. But that generation, it’s really the birds that came out, that don’t want to live in the basement”she continues. “Unlike my generation, this one is no longer at all afraid and no longer believes at all in this propaganda that we are going to water the Iranian people. They really want to recover their lives”adds Maryam Madjidi, writer and winner of the Goncourt prize for the first novel in 2017.
