(Montreal) Three young men were seriously injured and one of them is in critical condition following a stabbing attack on the closing of bars and restaurants overnight from Saturday to Sunday, in the center -city of Montreal.
The assault occurred around 2:15 a.m. at the corner of Robert-Bourassa and Maisonneuve boulevards, reported the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).
The three young men were injured “following an altercation which degenerated”, indicated agent Jean-Pierre Brabant, a spokesperson for the SPVM, but the police do not know for the moment “between who and what” , said his colleague Julien Lévesque to explain the vagueness surrounding the account of events.
The man who fights for his life in the hospital is 29 years old, said the SPVM. The other two men, who are “out of danger”, are aged 25 and 27.
Investigators are working to shed light on the causes and circumstances of this attack. They were still there in the morning. In particular, they try to collect images of the event.
The victims’ version will be collected when their condition permits.
No arrests had been made on Sunday morning.
