Sylvain Luc was not only an immense jazz guitarist, an outstanding technician, but also a composer and arranger. He has collaborated with Al Jarreau, Stefano Di Battista, Catherine Lara, Michel Jonasz, Michel Legrand, Didier Lockwood, Al Di Meola, Richard Bona, Biléli Lgrène, Paul Lay… In 2010, the musician won both the Grand SACEM Jazz Prize and the Django-Reinhardt Prize.

Biréli Lagrène was one of Sylvain Luc’s accomplices. On the Nuits de Fourvière website, Biréli Lagrène cites Sylvain Luc as one of his favorite guitarists. They often shared the stage and recorded numerous albums together.
