This is information revealed by our colleague Le journal d’Elbeuf. Three former parliamentary assistants from thedeputy for Seine-Maritime Sira Sylla have seized the Conseil des Prud’hommes. Suspicions of moral harassment in particular weigh on this elected member of the presidential majority elected in 2017. Since her election, moreover, no less than 17 collaborators succeeded to the deputy, according to Martin *, one of the complainants. Turnover is usual in the profession, but rarely at this point. Martin worked for more than two years with Sira Sylla. The young man is now on sick leave. He spoke to the local newspaper, and agreed to speak on France Bleu Normandie, on condition of anonymity. What he says are extended days but above all “the night calls, the bullying, a week is fine and a week I am the worst collaborator in the world”. One day, Martin’s body broke and the young man decided to take legal action.
Today, Martin is on an anti-depressant, suffers from anxiety and sleep problems, like another ex-collaborator of Sira Sylla. She worked for the MP for several months and tells the same story. “Messages at night, reproaches, hot and cold every other day” and a job that does not always correspond to the job description. “In my case, I had to go get his iron or drop his suitcase at the hotel”. Not really the job of a parliamentary assistant after ten years of study.
In total, three former collaborators seized the Prud’hommes. The deputy has already been ordered to pay compensation to a former employee, for moral harassment and unfair dismissal. She appealed. We tried to reach Sira Sylla by phone, by email and via his collaborators, without success.
