three dead in campus shooting near Detroit

Another deadly shooting in the United States. Three people were killed and five injured on Monday, February 13, by a man who opened fire on a campus in Lansing, west of Detroit in the United States. The shooter killed himself after an extensive manhunt, police said.

The suspect opened fire shortly after 8 p.m. (2 a.m. Tuesday in France) at a university building, before moving on foot to another building where gunshots were also heard, Chris Rozman said , acting campus police chief. Many of the injured are in critical condition, he said.

Hundreds of law enforcement personnel searched for the suspect whose photos police had released: a short black man wearing a denim jacket, red shoes and a baseball cap. Shortly after midnight, police announced that he had committed suicide not far from the scene of the shooting.
