(Chicago) The Chicago Cubs placed pitchers Alec Mills and Wade Miley along with shortstop Andrelton Simmons on the 10-day disabled list on Thursday.

Mills is struggling with a lower back injury and Miley is suffering from inflammation in her left elbow. As for Simmons, he is trying to recover from an inflammation in his right shoulder.
In each case, absences are retroactive to Monday.
The Cubs play their opener Thursday afternoon at Wrigley Field against the Milwaukee Brewers.
