Three babies were found dead on Tuesday May 3 in a cellar in the town of Ville-d’Avray, in Hauts-de-Seine, learned franceinfo, from the Nanterre prosecutor’s office, confirming information from TF1 and LCI.
The bodies were discovered as part of estate management, in the pavilion of a gynecologist who died in November 2015. They were kept in liquid in three seals, France Télévisions learned from concordant sources. Two of them were found fossilized, the third in a good state of preservation.
They will be transported to the forensic institute of Garches, where the medical examiner will have to determine if they are babies or fetuses, and for how long they were in this basement.
Whoever discovered the infants is in shock. She indeed herself lost a baby in 1993, and had to be examined by the firefighters dispatched to the scene. However, she will not be taken to the hospital.
An investigation for “search for the causes of death” is opened. The judicial police are seized.
