Three artistic installations located in different regions of Quebec are nominated for the international CODAaward prize. This rewards works of art commissioned from an artist or a team so that they can be exhibited in public, interior or architectural spaces.
One of the art installations, named Horizonis located in Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, in Montérégie. Created by Olivier Landreville, in collaboration with Serge Maheu, it invites visitors to sit in one of its egg-shaped modules. These are equipped with rocking chairs to observe the roof where a starry sky, a flight of birds or a canopy lights up.
On the ramparts of the Royal Battery, in Quebec, we find Life Jackets by the famous Chinese artist Ai Weiwei. The latter designed this installation from thousands of life jackets that belonged to Syrian refugees. The work was produced in collaboration with the EXMURO organization.
As for the artistic installation located in Montreal, Creative Hub, it was designed by Moment Factory, in collaboration with the architecture firm Gensler. It sits in the entrance hall of the building located at 1001, boulevard Robert-Bourassa, in the city center. The work mixes sound and light, in addition to allowing visitors to admire a giant digital screen where images of the city’s urban parks are projected.
The public has until July 2 to vote online for the work of art they wish to be crowned the winner.
