The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) arrested four minors, who had published threatening comments on social networks about a secondary school in Valcourt, Estrie, on December 14. Police also seized firearms and illicit substances from three residences.
Investigators from the SQ of the MRC du Val Saint-François took charge of the investigation in connection with this case on December 15. The police carried out checks inside and outside the school, before declaring the threats unfounded.
Four young people were subsequently arrested and released. The case will be submitted to the Director of Criminal and Penal Prosecutions (DPCP), and the young people could be accused of uttering threats.
The police also carried out searches in three residences, located in the municipalities of Valcourt, Bonsecours and Sainte-Anne-De-La-Rochelle. Officers seized nine firearms, ammunition, a crossbow, approximately 15 pounds of cannabis, more than 500 grams of hashish as well as several electronic devices.
