Threats against candidates from all political parties running for the October 3 election will now all be handled by the Sûreté du Québec.

After an agreement between the Prime Minister’s Office, the SQ and the Chief Electoral Officer of Quebec, all the candidates received an explanatory email from the DGEQ on this subject last night.
This email would detail the procedure to follow in the event of threats to those who solicit the vote of Quebecers.
The Sûreté du Québec has deployed additional personnel to investigate all reports.
