Threats against an elected official: a 33-year-old man wanted by the police

A 33-year-old man is wanted by the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) on an arrest warrant in connection with events that occurred in December 2020.

Between December 3 and 7, 2020, Julien Verreman-Chapdelaine, from Montérégie, allegedly made threats against an elected official. Following his arrest, he reportedly did not appear in court as scheduled on November 22, 2021.

“As a result, an arrest warrant has been issued in connection with the threats and the failure to comply with the probation order that followed. Other arrest warrants would also weigh against him for similar offences, ”explained the SQ in a press release on Wednesday.

Despite several investigative steps, the police have still not succeeded in locating Mr. Verreman-Chapdelaine and are asking for the public’s help.

The suspect is 1.70 m (5 ft 7 in) tall and weighs 82 kg (180 lb). He has brown hair and blue eyes.

Anyone who sees him is asked to contact 911 or confidentially to the Criminal Information Center of the Sûreté du Québec at 1 800 659-4264.
