The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) said it suspended its online services after learning of a security threat on Friday.

In Quebec, the Mon Dossier area of the Quebec Revenue Agency was not accessible on Saturday evening.

However, the website of the Revenue Agency did not provide any explanation as to the reasons for the suspension of the service.

Also, the websites of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education were not accessible on Saturday evening, as were other services such as the Entreprises Québec website and the Enterprise Zone. The sites of these services also did not specify whether cyber attacks were the cause of the problems.

On its Facebook page, the University of Quebec at Chicoutimi (UQAC) wrote:

“As a preventive measure, UQAC must close access to its computer systems. Indeed, a marked increase in cyber attacks around the world forces us to do certain checks. Thus, your emails or even Moodle, for example, will no longer be accessible during the next few hours. We will keep you informed of developments as soon as possible. ”

In Ontario, transit agency Metrolinx said the GO Transit website was brought back online on Saturday after a 5-hour outage due to a cyber threat.
