Threat to security | Canada Revenue Agency suspends online services

The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) said it suspended its online services after learning of a security threat.

The agency said on its website on Friday that it became aware of “a security vulnerability affecting organizations around the world.” ”

The CRA added that there is no indication that the agency’s systems have been compromised, or that there has been unauthorized access to taxpayer information.

More details on the nature of the vulnerability were not provided.

On Friday and Saturday, Internet users could not access the My Account portal, in particular. “Our services will be available again as soon as possible,” the agency said.

Meanwhile, southern Ontario transit agency Metrolinx said the GO Transit website was brought back online on Saturday after a 17-hour outage due to a cyber threat.
