thousands of people parade throughout France

“Neither women nor the earth are territories of conquest”, “angry feminist, I will not let myself be done”, is it written on the signs. On the occasion of the international day for women’s rights, several thousand people marched, Tuesday, March 8, throughout France against sexist violence and for equal pay. “We are fed up with feminist washing, talk, we want action”told AFP Sophie Binet, in charge of gender equality issues at the CGT, a union member of the collective of 62 organizations at the origin of the demonstration, in Paris.

“Stop all violence against women, patriarchy kills”, “Equal pay should not be empty words”could also be read in the Parisian corège.

“Raped, beaten, harassed, women have had enough”, “Who does not say a word does not consent”, “Neither invisible, nor available, free and irreducible”was it also written on signs in Montpellier (Hérault).

“A lot of people” in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne), reported 20 minutes. “We will not be silent”, “to give in is not to consent”could also be read on posters in Lyon (Rhône).

The four main left-wing presidential candidates took part in the Paris demonstration. Anne Hidalgo and Fabien Roussel each made brief passages in the demonstration while Yannick Jadot and Jean-Luc Mélenchon took advantage of the parade to discuss their proposals for the presidential election at length.
