Several tens of thousands of people set out on Saturday June 29, early in the afternoon, for the Parisian LGBTQ+ pride march. They marched from the north of the capital to reach Place de la République, with the fight against transphobia as their slogan this year. According to Inter-LGBT, 110,000 people were present.

A young crowd gathered at midday, at the Porte de la Villette, in the north of Paris. “Against transphobia : transsolidarities” was written on the banner at the head of the procession, while the organizers of this 2024 edition intend to denounce a transphobic offensive. “In 2024, we experienced an unprecedented anti-trans campaign,” denounced Anaïs Perrin-Prevelle, director of OUTrans, at a press conference.

Colorful floats, unicorn-shaped balloons, hearts or disco balls, percussion concert or London-style bus from the Act-up association, the procession reached the Place de la République where a concert took place later -noon, with headliners Eddy de Pretto, Bilal Hassani, Desire, Louïz and even the drag queen Piche. Protesters also observed three minutes of silence for those who died from AIDS.

Organized on the eve of the first round of early legislative elections, the pride march was also the occasion for slogans or political speeches targeting all the personalities or parties accused of being opposed to LGBTQ+ rights.
