By mistake, the inflation bonus was sometimes paid two or three times. This is the case for thousands of French people. However, will it be necessary to pay back this amount collected in excess? Bercy ensures that there will be no controls but invites the French to reimburse.

Claire, 21, received the inflation bonus twice, from the Crous and from her employer. The young woman is a part-time employee, but also a student. She is not the only one in this case: salaried students, multi-employer salaried employees… These duplicates, or even sometimes triplets, concern a few thousand French people “at most”, minimizes Bercy. It would rather be 800,000 autoentrepreneurs, rectifies their representative. The explanation is rather simple: the files of Urssaf, Pôle emploi or even companies are complicated to cross.

“We sounded the alarm bells on November 15. The government denied it a little and then told us off the record ‘it doesn’t matter, there will be twice the aid, we won’t check ‘”, says Grégoire Leclercq, president of the National Federation of Autoentrepreneurs (FNAE). Bercy confirms, no question of controlling, even if the French are invited to reimburse. Very few have taken this step, only about twenty taxpayers according to Bercy.
