Thomas Pesquet is expected on Earth with three other astronauts on Monday, November 8. Journalist Jean-Christophe Batteria tells us the details of this imminent departure.
“I don’t think we’re nervous, it’s not my first water landing”, advances Thomas Pesquet from the International Space Station. The French astronaut is on the way. After more than six months aboard the ISS, he is due to return to Earth on Monday, November 8, accompanied by three other astronauts.
But this departure from the ISS promises to be complicated, because of the bad weather. “In Florida (United States) at the moment it is raining, thunderstorms are preventing the take-off of the reserve team who will come and relay Thomas Pesquet and his companions“, explains the journalist France Télévisions Jean-Christophe Batteria. “But the ISS still decided to bring them back down aboard the Dragon capsule”. Astronauts are to land off Florida or towards Houston, in the Gulf of Mexico. Thomas Pesquet will then be transferred to Cologne (Germany), for a well-deserved vacation.
