Thomas Pesquet took 3cm in space… before losing everything again!

What happens in space stays in space. This is in any case what assured the famous astronaut Thomas Pésquet, which crossed the stars very closely while remaining 200 days in orbit in the international space station ISS. An experience that has reserved many surprises for him, some of which he unveiled on Wednesday June 1, 2022 on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Air France Foundation.

To celebrate the beautiful age, the Air France Foundation had organized a flight simulation with about thirty children with different disabilities, accompanied by their parents, in partnership with the association L’Envol. Invited to chat with this small crowd, Thomas Pesquet notably revealed that he had gained 3cm of extra height during his mission in space, as reported by the daily newspaper The Parisian.

They have stars in their eyes. It sows a seed for later. Today, these professions are open to all profiles. Right now, we’re recruiting a promotion with a lot of girls in aerospace. There are good jobs in these sectors, some of which are adapted to people with disabilities. Of course, there are drastic criteria to become a pilot or an astronaut. But at the moment, we are thinking about how we can adapt these professions so that they are accessible to everyone...”
