Tourneur-sur-bois is looking for a buyer: in Gesnes near Montsûrs, in Mayenne, Gilbert Poisson manufactures wooden parts for cabinet makers, carpenters and unique orders. At the age of 60, the craftsman prepares for retirement and is looking for a buyer who is passionate about wood like him.
In his workshop in Gesnes, Gilbert Poisson is never bored: he makes table legs, balusters or stairs, decorative objects, or even artistic pieces, some of them unique, such as the rosettes on the doors of the Palais Brongniart in Paris. In anticipation of his retirement, in two years, he will devote himself to finding a buyer, with a good idea of the ideal profile: “the person must be passionate about wood, have a minimum of knowledge, and then the experience will come with time.“
The potential buyer does not have to worry about the order book: Gilbert Poisson receives more requests than he can satisfy! “I’m on my own, and I work for cabinet makers, carpenters, for much more sophisticated things off-plan. ”
For the moment, Gilbert Poisson has no tracks for the recovery. “I wrote to a school in the Var where I had done a filming internship. They will talk to the students about it. It only takes one enthusiast for the magic to take place. Because it would be a shame to see one more craftsman disappear, especially since there are very few in France to do that. “
