This weekend, take advantage of Toulouse Plage to train in first aid

While dramatic drownings follow one another this summer, in our region, training in first aid gestures makes it possible to do prevention.

Until Sunday evening, 6:30 p.m., at the Prairie des Filtres in the Cour Dillon space in Toulouse, the Haute-Garonne Red Cross offers you short training sessions, lasting one or two hours, with your family. The humanitarian association organizes the operation “Summer That Saves” as in nineteen other cities in France. Young and old can take advantage of the Red Cross stand at Toulouse Plage to train in cardiac massage, the lateral safety position and above all, ask all their questions.

In nine out of ten cases, the citizen is the first link in the chain of relief

“We are aimed at all ages, from 3 years old, to explain the risks and dangers that the pitchoun can encounter in his home” explains Mélanie, the training manager at the Red Cross delegation for Haute Garonne. “How to react when a person is no longer breathing? We learn cardiac massage, how to set up a defibrillator. The faster the rescue actions are carried out, the more the chances of survival for the victim will increase”.

In civic service at the Red Cross of Haute-Garonne, Jean-Baptiste is notably in charge of these workshops. The very young adult hunts down received ideas : “for example, the use of the defibrillator, some think that it replaces cardiac massage or that it is reserved for professionals, it is wrong, we are trying to break that. Indirectly, thanks to that, we also save lives. So frankly, it’s a pleasure.”

If you are not there but are interested in this training, take note of the next operation of the Red Cross: September 10, for World First Aid Day.
