Early January, Chimene Badi
made its return to the stores four years after its last opus with an album called Chimène Badi sings Piaf Or she covered the hits of Edith Piaf.
A few days ago, the singer
made a big announcement to his fans since a surrender will be available from October 6. We can find Joyce Jonathan, Vincent Niclo and Véronique Dicaire there.
During an interview with the media The Monthly, Chimene Badi
discussed the underside of this project: “Her voice moved me, I grew up with her, she never left me. I loved this woman so much that I read many books about her life, about her strength, her journey, her story, her part of masculinity… I recognize myself in her in many of her personality traits. She’s really my idol, I’ve always dreamed of singing her but actually, I knew it wasn’t the time yet. To accurately embody the texts, I think you have to have lived. One day, I knew deep down that it was the right moment and that I had to get started! At that precise moment, I I couldn’t wait any longer! (laughs).”
A piece that touches her enormously

This Monday, September 25, Chimene Badi
came to promote its reissue on the RTL set. The opportunity for her to mention the title My God that she already sang when she was younger. For those who do not know this piece, Edith Piaf implores the Lord to leave his love on earth. She evokes the mourning of Marcel Cerdan which she has long denied.
A song that really stirs up Chimène Badi now. “I discover it on a song which is terrible. Fortunately I don’t realize the meaning at first. But it’s my God. I can’t because it’s too painful, I can’t understand it. ‘interpret. It’s too complicated for me’, she first explained. Then the producer of the album will make an arrangement that will free her. “The only vocal take I’m going to do, it’s going to be the only one because I can’t deliver it a second time. Something happened, I release it and then that’s it. We keep the first version”, she then added. An interpretation that risks being overwhelming.
