Invited in the franceinfo Talk on Wednesday May 30, Anaïs Perrin-Prevelle, director of the OUTrans association, believes that the controversial bill passed in the Senate on the transidentity of minors is a text which rides on irrational fears.
The Senate adopted a controversial bill on Tuesday, May 28, banning gender transitions among those under 18. For Anaïs Perrin-Prevelle, director of the OUTrans association, guest in the franceinfo Talk on Twitch on Thursday May 30, it is quite simply a transphobic text that rides on fear: “This text is transphobic, she storms. Transphobia is having a fear of transidentity. And clearly, this text surfs on this fear. He says that it’s serious to be a trans child, that it’s serious to be trans, that we shouldn’t take care of trans children for “protect children from transidentity”.
“We have, in our support groups, she continues, parents who, when they learn of their child’s transidentity, have the impression of falling out of the closet, that it is the worst thing that has ever happened to them in their life. Often with a filthy : “I have to mourn my child”, even if the child is present in the room, with this impression that it is something dramatic that has happened, that we put on the level of… mourning!”
