enjoys life to the fullest, whether on a daily basis or on stage. But the artist sometimes gives a little too much of himself. The proof, with the terrible scene witnessed by his 11-year-old daughter, when her father appeared open and bleeding during a concert in Belgium.
It was during an interview given to Closer
, to be found on newsstands this Friday March 15, 2024, that the 55-year-old singer returned to this frightening anecdote. Our colleagues recall that the artist who participated in Rising Star
, has the habit, at the end of his concerts, of jumping into the crowd, having one shoe missing, and very often, having a torn shirt. Signs which prove that the artist gives everything on stage, in order to satisfy his fans.

But this investment sometimes leads to some problems. During a concert in Belgium, Cali came out with numerous bruises. “It happens to me when I throw myself into the crowd. In Belgium, this summer”he remembered before revealing: “I fractured two ribs. It was wide open and blood was flowing.”
Except that that day, his 11-year-old daughter was a few meters from him. “My daughter Poppée, 11 years old, was at the edge of the stage, and was very afraid for me. Afterwards, she held my hand to go to the emergency services. An additional bond was established between us”he recalled to our colleagues, happy to see such love from his daughter, but also filled with regret at the idea of having imposed these images on Poppea.
It remains to be seen whether this incident will slow down Cali for his next events, or if he will continue to throw himself into the crowd during his next shows.
