Consecrated Miss France 2001 and Miss Europe 2001, Élodie Gossuin very quickly turned to the world of audiovisual. On the radio, she took her first steps alongside Manu Levy on Fun Radio and on television we occasionally find her in shows such as “Fort Boyard” on France 2 or “DALS ” on TF1. Within the M6 group for six years, Élodie Gossuin co-hosts with Jérôme Anthony, Tuesday February 27 at 9:10 p.m. on M6, the 40th anniversary of the Top 50, the anniversary evening with on the program many artists who have been number 1 or who will perform tubes ranked first.
franceinfo: For people who are wondering: “But what was the top 50?” What can we say?
Élodie Gossuin: We know because indeed, the top 50 are 40 years old, which is roughly my age. The top 50 rocked our childhood, our adolescence and much more since it continued on W9 for years with Jérôme Anthony. The Top 50 for me were the clips, the madness of Mylène Farmer, Michael Jackson, boy bands like 2Be3 or even Jeanne Mas and company.
It was also suspenseful, with the ranking of the best sales of singles, of 45s at the beginning, we asked ourselves: “But who will be first this week?“
A real suspense. “Does number 1 stay number 1?“There were records set for 15 weeks. The suspense was the temperature of the musical universe and for the artists, it was the apotheosis, the pinnacle, the consecration of being in the top 50.
What will we see this evening on M6, only former number 1s?
Not just former number 1s, but all those who made the top 50. Many artists are there, original performers and others who come to perform these titles which were number 1 at the time.
“We are also going to revisit UFOs, music that was not expected and which finds itself propelled to the top of the sales charts, whether it is Las Ketchup, Jordy.”

All these titles from elsewhere, whose lyrics we don’t even understand, but which imposed their anthem and which were unifying. Titles from the world of cinema too, whether they are James Bond Or Titanic with Celine Dion and many others.
Especially from the 80s?
Yes. The 80s are good, it’s party time and it remains fashionable. The proof is that Stars 80 is still a hit all over France on tour.
With you, there will be Roch Voisine, Jeanne Mas, David and Jonathan, Bibi and the biggest 80s stars too. Will you have everyone?
Yes, exactly, French-speaking artists, many of whom do not live in France. But they made the trip for the 40th anniversary of the Top 50.
What do you think is the number 1 number 1 song?
For me, it’s Céline Dion, I’m a total fan of Céline. Otherwise Michael Jackson.
After your years as a beauty queen, you quickly turned to the media. Was it this experience that made you want to work on TV or radio or did you already dream of it before?
No, I didn’t dream of it. I’ll be completely honest, for me, it was something inaccessible. I thought it only worked on relationships, only on pistons. By being a guest on numerous radio shows, particularly when relocating, I discovered contact with the public and the magic of radio with its errors, the relief that it creates, the exchange with people, the instant . I loved it straight away. I tried to make models, I met radio presenters and the first one who gave me a chance was Manu Levy. Radio is what I miss most today. If I could combine a little radio with the way I have fun on television in the M6 group today, it would be great.
You’ve been working with M6 for six years, you’ve never had a very strong program, like “France has incredible talent” or “The best pastry chef”, you often do musical shows. Is this a disappointment for you?
Oh no, because I have a lot of fun, and even if these are one-off shows, it’s true that we can have the image of easy work when it requires a lot of preparation.
“I have fun in entertainment because it also makes me more alive by transmitting life on television. Afterwards, I would love a recurring show.”

Would “The Best Pastry Chef” interest you?
Yes, because there are a lot of humans. I love baking, but on a human level I love the relationships that are created within the framework of a show like this.
There is a big evening being prepared on W9, March 12, for the 100th anniversary of children’s rights. You just shot it, what can we say about this grand prime?
W9, the M6 group, has been supporting UNICEF for several years. The idea is to be able to concretely show viewers what UNICEF is doing on the ground. That is to say vaccination, access to school for young children, etc. For example, if you buy a pack of UNICEF greeting cards, that represents 20 doses of polio vaccine. I regularly go on missions for UNICEF, I have been to Senegal, Mauritania and the last mission was to Djibouti.
But to raise awareness about these issues, it has to be festive.
It has to be festive and that is the case, because we invite the greatest French artists who play the game and who come to sing with a child. The message is very clear, it’s very beautiful, but we’re celebrating, we’re never in pathos, we have the right to celebrate and talk about important things to help. And that’s important too.
