Temptation Island, Secret Story… While a wind of nostalgia is blowing across the French audiovisual landscape, the success of the star Academy
after almost 15 years of absence, proves that viewers definitely validate the return of all these cult shows from the early 2000s.
Guest on the set of C to you this Thursday, November 30, 2023, Nikos Aliagas also commented on this phenomenon. He, who has hosted the program since its creation in 2001, confided that he did not expect that the star Academyis such a hit after so many years of absence from the small screen.
“When I left Star ac, it was definitive. And when it came back, I said ‘yes ok, let’s test for joke’…And in fact, I didn’t leave the castle…”he joked.

A show dear to the heart of Nikos Aliagas. And for good reason, if the flagship host of TF1 today is used to presenting telecrochets, more than twenty years ago, on the occasion of the very first bonus of the star Academy, the latter was at the helm of his first entertainment show. A real turning point in the career of the 54-year-old man who had until then only worked for current affairs programs.
A crazy bet… Thus, Tina Grigoriou’s half wanted to point out that the first bonus broadcast on October 20, 2001 had not met with great success among viewers… Enough to arouse many doubts at the time. Not to mention the fact that the godfather of this very first edition was the singer Florent Pagny… and that the latter did not necessarily have reassuring words.
“He’s my godfather in entertainment. He (Florent Pagny) said to me at the time: ‘what are you doing in this shit’. […] The launch of Star ac’s first prime didn’t work. […] I owe a lot to Florent”, said Nikos Aliagas. Doubts that quickly disappeared. As proof, Florent Pagny was among the guests of the fourth bonus of the 2023 edition.
