“Basically, this law should not be examined on June 8, in any case its article 1”estimated Thursday, May 18 on franceinfo Jean-René Cazeneuve, Renaissance deputy of Gers, about the text carried by the Liot group to repeal the pension reform.“This bill creates a burden on public finances of around 15 billion euros”, adds the general rapporteur of the Finance Commission to the National Assembly.
A bill unconstitutional for the majority
“Obviously, she does not respect Article 40 of the Constitution which is extremely clear on this.” A position which joins that of Elisabeth Borne. The Prime Minister estimated on Wednesday that the Liot group’s proposal to repeal the pension reform was “unconstitutional”. “Each time a law presented a burden for our public finances, it had been declared inadmissible by the chairman of the Finance Committee, regardless of his political affiliation”notes Jean-René Cazeneuve. “There, it’s Eric Coquerel [de La France Insoumise]I hope he will have the wisdom and perspective necessary to declare that this law is not admissible”says MP Renaissance.
“Where are we going to stop?”
This Thursday, the president of the LFI group in the National Assembly, Mathilde Panot, believes that a non-examination of the bill on June 8 would have an effect “as deflagrating as 49.3”. “It’s absolutely outrageous”replies Jean-René Cazeneuve. “What we expect from a deputy, and from all French people, is that he respects the Constitution. We must be exemplary in this regard. For political reasons, we could not respect the Constitution? are we going to stop?” Any MP, or the government, can refer to the Finance Committee to rule on the admissibility of the bill brought forward by the Liot group.
