Have a stain in the middle of the face, we imagine that it is not easy to assume, especially during childhood and adolescence. One of France’s favorite TV hosts wears one on his nose. It is Jean-Luc Reichmann, which has what is scientifically called a angioma. A skin color, red or even purple in the case of the host of “12 Coups de Midi” who has just reframed the new master of the show, present from birth as a result of a malformation of the blood vessels. Some call it “a wine stain”.
Well this stain, “the stain”, was also the nickname given to Jean-Luc Reichmann during his childhood, when he was at school by other students or even teachers, as he confides to France Info. A stigma that he ended up overcoming. “I overcame this trauma by humor and by the love of mine”, did he declare. Before continuing: “I think today that it’s our little differences that will make the difference, we have to do something positive with it.”
And it took time since when he started on TV, we made up for him. “I made the difference my fight. That’s why when I started to present ‘Les Z’Amours’ on France 2, very quickly I no longer wanted my spot to be hidden with make-up. I have a stain on my nose, people had to know”, he explained. Making a difference in his fight, Jean-Luc Reichmann does so by proudly revealing his task in front of millions of viewers but also through a clause appearing in his contract and without which he does not animate.
Indeed, the one who will soon celebrate the twelve years of “12 noon shots” is uncompromising on one thing: subtitles. “When I said ‘we’re going to caption the shows because my little sister doesn’t understand being profoundly deaf’, no one was captioning the entertainment shows”, he said in the columns of TV Magazine. “It was obvious that it became a fight. It’s also in my contracts. There is a clause that says that all the programs I present must be subtitled for the hard of hearing and for the deaf”he argued.
