Diane Leyre was crowned Miss France 2022, Sunday December 12 among 29 contenders for the Zenith of Caen (Normandy) succeeding the passage to Amandine Petit. She was ahead of Miss Martinique (Floriane Bascou) first runner-up, Miss Alsace (Cécile Wolfrom) second runner-up, Miss Tahiti (Tumateata Buisson) third runner-up and Miss Normandie (Youssra Askry) fourth runner-up.
But that dream come true almost never happened. This Tuesday, December 14, the beauty queen was with Sylvie Tellier in the show C’Cauet on NRJ. The 24-year-old has revealed that she owns a “lucky charm” which helped him to de-stress throughout the competition or almost. “I wore it to the Miss Paris election, I wore it to the Miss Île-de-France election, I wore it on Miss France … It’s my Miss France lipstick”, she explained, specifying that it dates from 2002. “It dates from Sylvie’s year, I just found out, too!”
What to react the director of the committee Miss France. “It’s out of date!”. The pretty brunette blurted out: “He’s like Sylvie, he stayed young”.
But on election day, Diane Leyre had forgotten it. “It was the only time, I forgot it in the morning and they said: ‘We can’t go back to the hotel'”, she told Sébastien Cauet and his team. “So I forgot about it that morning and, in fact, I started to cry, I said, ‘I wouldn’t go on stage without lipstick'”, continued the beauty queen faced with the surprise of her audience. “Yes, it was impossible”. Obviously this story had a happy ending. “Suddenly, I wore it and when I put it on, it reassured me. And with each passage, I asked the make-up artist to recover a little before going on stage.”
And thereafter to be crowned and to bring back a title in its region which awaited this victory since 1997.
