Last Saturday May 7 at 11 a.m., Emmanuel Macron was invested for his second five-year term as President of the Republic from the Élysée Palace. The Head of State had invited 450 personalities, in addition to his family. Guillaume Gallienne, François Cluzet, Jacques Attali, Tony Parker to name but a few. Bernard Montiel was also there. But his presence earned him a lot of criticism. Marie-Emilie Euphrasia tweeted this: “The last episode of video gag, Bernard Montiel in the culture square of Emmanuel Macron at the investiture. Culture had another level under François 1er. It is not by renaming his Renaissance party that we necessarily arrive at the ankle of the former king of France”. The columnist defended himself by replying: “What conn **** the facho. And contemptuous. No wonder. I was not in the square culture and I fuck you with pleasure”. A message that he ended up deleting. “How inelegant, a difference of opinion does not allow such misogynistic and filthy remarks. Nothing surprising from a coward who deletes his tweets. You would have done better to remain host of Video Gag”.
Then the spokesperson for the National Rally, Julien Odoul put his two cents in the clash by posting this message: “Putting Bernard Montiel in the culture square is like exposing a roll of PQ in the Hall of Mirrors at the Palace of Versailles. Support for Marie-Emilie insulted by this poor guy who is much overpaid”.
The latter was on the set of Do not touch My TVthis Tuesday, May 10 for explanations with the columnist. “I was very flattered to be invited and I was not in the culture square (…) I regretted this tweet”.
Subsequently, Bernard Montiel made a revelation. “There was a request from Madame Macron. She didn’t want the artists, she didn’t want us to invite them”he said adding that it was not to “harm them”. “Intimate friends like Arditi, Berléand, who were at the Rotonde restaurant at the time, did not come”.
