this great news that will not please Laeticia Hallyday at all

This is news that should cause further trouble within the Hallyday clan. Universal Music has just unveiled an unreleased track recorded by the singer in the 70s. Originally, the song “The Specialist” should have been the soundtrack for the film that bears the same name. In the work of Sergio Corbucci, Johny held the main role alongside Françoise Fabien among others. However, the film was never broadcast and therefore the song never heard by the general public…

By releasing this track, Universal Music Studio is offering a real gift to its fans. The record company owns all the rights to the rocker’s songs recorded between 1961 and 2005. Xavier Perrot, the artistic manager of Johnny Hallyday’s catalog explains: “I thought, me, that this title was lost forever” before continuing: “It’s always great to find an archive that has been dormant for so long […] it is a mixed tape in which there were two versions of the song: a first with a rock formation and another more acoustic. There are only two takes of this song.”.

An outing that should not enchant Laeticia
Since the disappearance of Johnny Hallyday four years ago, his widow Laeticia has been trying to keep his memory alive. In 2020, a few months after his death, his wife and his label released a posthumous album, Mon pays c’est l’amour. Subsequently, two other unreleased titles were unveiled.

Laeticia, who fought a long battle with the star’s children about the inheritance, should therefore not receive a penny from the royalties generated by this new music.
