“We, his parents and his sister, Leslie, often ask ourselves the question…”
“This year, on May 13 exactly, Grégory would have been 40 years old.”, she said in her audio message. “For you, he will certainly always keep the face of a young man of 24 years. And if you are sensitive to his story, his songs, his strength, his perseverance, you know that his fight against cystic fibrosis was the fight of his life. The disease finally won him on April 30, 2007. But was his fight in vain for all that? In her poignant voice, Laurence Lemarchal continues by explaining that her child certainly did not die in vain: “Wehis parents and his sister, Leslie, we often ask ourselves the question: finally, has Grégory really lost this fight when we see all that has been accomplished for 16 years? I believe not. Grégory, he managed to bring this fucking disease, as he called it, out of the shadows. And that’s what he always wanted. Without knowing it, he sensitized so many people who had never heard of cystic fibrosis (…) He also initiated an extraordinary mobilization in which you take part, with us every day. His fight continues thanks to the association that bears his name (…) Because yes, the situation has changed a lot since Greg’s departure. We no longer live the same with cystic fibrosis when Grégory was born in 1983.” A lesson in life and courage, quite simply.
