this former “Top Chef” (M6) accused of harassment by his teams and fired

He is a candidate who marked season 13 of Top Chef, in 2022, by joining Paul Pairet’s brigade, twice during the cooking show. Remember, Lilian Douchet had abandoned the competition at the start of the 9e episode (replaced by Wilfried), then reinstated him after the first test on the 10e episode (with the return of the eliminated). He was finally eliminated in week 13.

Kitchen nightmare

Two years after his appearance on M6, chef Lilian Douchet, 30, originally from Beauvais, and former director of a hypermarket, was fired from the position he held at Lil’home, in Bordeaux. In question, a behavior which would have raised the mustard in the nose of his teams.

Also, on the restaurant’s Instagram account, we could read, on February 10, that Louis Becan was taking over from Lilian Douchet for “offer new and daring cuisine. Unanimously, the restaurant team announced that they had asked their chef “to stop working alongside him“, and to resign,”Lilian Douchet had to leave the restaurant” adds the text.

A departure which did not happen without a fight, since the employees ensure: “Chief Lilian did not want to leave the premises and the employees were forced to protect themselves”.

Teams traumatized by his behavior

On November 18, 2023, the date the affair broke out, the Lil’Home restaurant was forced to close its doors. The Lil’Home team then refused.to work with Chef Lilian Douchet because of his violent behavior towards them, his verbal abuse, his threats” say the employees. And added: “The situation is no longer tenable for them and the team fears for their physical and psychological integrity“.

Now that a page is turning for this Bordeaux establishment, the teams are looking to the future, they say, while ensuring that this episode has made them suffer…
