Nearly 42 years after his death, Garou has decided to take up the great classics of one of his idols, Joe Dassin. Among them is the title Yourstaken from Luxembourg Garden released in 1976. Titled, Garou plays Dassinthe opus has sold more than 21,000 copies since its release last November. “As a child, I was rocked by Joe Dassin. Later, I introduced him to my daughter and today, it’s my turn to make you rediscover him”he said to justify his choice to pay tribute to the American-French singer.

Moreover, the Quebec singer with five million albums sold confided in the Parisian. On this occasion, he returned to “starification” which has always been a problem for him. His role as Quasimodo for the musical Notre-Dame de Paris in 1998 confronted him with “hysteria” from fans. “In ‘Notre-Dame’, I played on stage Quasimodo, who seeks to be loved and, some evenings, it screamed ‘Garouuu’. We no longer saw the character I was playing”, explained the ex-coach of the show The Voice. Garou will go to Belgium to perform several concerts before going home to Canada, then returning to France and finishing his tour in Luxembourg at the end of 2023.
