An inadvertently open microphone in the hemicycle sometimes reveals more than long speeches. On the perch, the LREM president of the Assembly, below, a member of the Republicans. “How are you ?”asks the first. “How are you? We’re happy to stop tonight”replies the second. “Thanks to you”, finally answers the president. Véronique Louwagie, deputy LR, assumes but sets the limits of this complicit relationship: “It is not because we speak to our neighbors that we jump the hedge which separates us”. The Republicans have however allowed the majority to pass the two important texts of this summer, purchasing power and the budget.

It does not take more to the National Rally to put them in the same camp. “I think the engagement is well underway, we are now waiting for the official wedding”, quips Laurent Jacobelli, deputy RN. But the presidential majority wants to see there only a compromise of circumstances. It is on the economic texts that the majority and the right have found agreements. It could be different in the fall. From September, the majority will try to find new allies before the resumption.
