A few days ago, Wednesday March 2, Jean-Pierre Pernaut left us. The former star presenter of the 1 p.m. newscast on TF1 died at the age of 71. The journalist fought for months against the disease, lung cancer which he revealed in a video posted on his Twitter account.
Saturday March 5, Nikos Aliagas presented the new issue of 50min Inside with the actress and granddaughter of Johnny Hallyday, Emma Smet. Together, they launched a subject devoted to one of the most popular French personalities.
During the few minutes, several personalities succeeded each other to pay homage to the predecessor of Marie-Sophie Lacarrau for the umpteenth time. Philippe Risoli but also Sylvie Tellier took the floor. The latter spoke of Jean-Pierre Pernaut’s meeting with Nathalie Marquay in 2001. From this love at first sight, Lou was born in 2002 (she will celebrate her 20th birthday in December and Tom in 2003 (he will also celebrate his 19th birthday in December Internet users noticed that the teams of 50 minutes Inside had made a mistake on the ages of the two youngest children of JPP.

The hell that JPP went through
To our Gala colleagues, the former Miss France made an equally touching revelation in which she recounted the suffering of the presenter, diagnosed in May 2021 with cancer, did not want to make the information public, until his operation in July.
“To tell you the truth, when we learned about this cancer, Jean-Pierre and I were dropped. Shockedshe remembered. And I was afraid of being polluted by the presence of the paparazzi. He was in hospital for three weeks in July and I wanted him to be quiet. In times like these, we need calm. Jean-Pierre experienced three weeks of suffering on his bed and even when he got home, it was hell: the painkillers didn’t work, he lost five, six kilos even if he quickly regained them. And then, children weren’t ready to take all the press.”
