The world of Misses has been in mourning since Monday, January 31, 2022. Indeed, one of them killed herself by throwing herself from the building where she lived in New York. “My heart is crying tonight… We just learned that one of my adventure sisters at Miss Universe has flown to the stars. Rest in peace angel, you will never be forgotten“, reacted the former Miss France Maëva Coucke. “My heart aches…Rest in peace my lovely angel. I’ll miss you”, wrote for his part Iris Mittenaere.
A little earlier in the day, before her fatal gesture, the young woman had published this sentence on Instagram: “May this day bring you rest and peace“. A legend accompanied by a photo of her obviously taken during a fashion shoot. Beyond the somewhat sibylline message, the publication shows Cheslie Kryst looking lost. A post choice that is surely not trivial given her decision to end it, but how to explain that a popular and committed young person can come to such an act?

In March 2021 in pace, the American had seemed somewhat pensive at the idea of passing the 30-year mark. “VSevery time i say ‘I am 30 years old’, I tense up a bit. Sometimes I manage to mask this uncomfortable reaction with excitement.. Other times my enthusiasm seems hollow, like bad acting. Society has never been kind to those who age, especially women.”, she said. “When I was crowned Miss USA 2019 at age 28, I was the oldest woman in history to win the title […] Some hardcore fans of the contest have immediately started asking to lower the age limit”, she revealed.
Without really giving more reasons or explanations for her gesture, Cheslie Kryst still left a note in which she simply indicated that she wanted to bequeath all her property to her mother, also a former beauty queen. The mystery of his motivations therefore remains intact.
