It was July 23, 2004. A date that fans of Vincent Lagaf’ and his sidekick Bill have not forgotten. In fact, that day Bigdil bowed out after several years of good and loyal service. Since then, everyone has been waiting and hoping for a return of the famous game of TF1. If clues suggest that the program could sign its return, the doubt still remains to believe the words of Gilles Vautier, the interpreter of the extraterrestrial who accompanied the host on the small screen, who granted an interview to Telepro.
The opportunity for him to make a revelation about a disaster narrowly avoided during a shoot. Indeed, for many years, he and Vincent Lagaf’ have “long been kept secret” about a “fire at Bigdil one day“. “It was quite impressivethere were paper pineapples burning and the candidate had to put it out but he couldn’t and the fireman arrived he said ‘I have everything under control’, and nothing at all”, recalls Gilles Vautier. And the interpreter of the extraterrestrial does not exaggerate his remarks.
The fire that could have destroyed everything
The ex-acolyte of Vincent Lagaf ‘even remembers that “the fire was starting to spread and I see everyone running away I was harnessed […] For 3, 4 minutes, it was quite scary and then we never talked about it because we didn’t want it to be known”. It will therefore have taken several years before the story is revealed in broad daylight. A story that could, perhaps, be evoked again in the event that the Bigdil returns to TF1.
But even if many rumors give hope for a return of the famous game, “Bill” said that it would be complicated. “Hervé Hubert (the producer: editor’s note) bought the rights to Bigdil. He told me about it and asked my opinion. Doing a Bigdil shot again would be very funny. This will not be a dailyhe confides before admitting: “Officially, I don’t know anything. I just know that the producer bought the rights. If we resume this show, it would be a bonus format in my opinion.“ A bonus that Guillaume Genton has already mentioned on TPMP a few weeks ago.
