At the dawn of his 78th birthday, Sheila always fishing! On display at several festivals this summer, the singer intends to skim the stages and meet her audience throughout this season! The perfect opportunity to celebrate his 60-year career as close as possible to his fans… And in this regard, a few days before his performance on stage at the Mont-Cotton open-air theater in Bagnols on August 19, the artist gave an interview to our colleagues from the Objectif Gard site.
An interview in which Sheila did not hesitate revealed the secrets of her longevity on stage: “I have good genes, my parents endowed me with good health, it starts like that. I like what I do, I don’t feel like I’m working, yet I prepare myself physically and vocally, it takes a lot of energy from me, but as long as I enjoy it, my health allows it and that I will see happy people, I will continue. I perform, I sing, I dance, I’m with a rock band, I’m not plan-plan, it’s not piano-voice, what”she said.
A passion that explains the reason why the singer of the yé-yé years is renewed. Indeed, there is no way for it to sound like forty decades ago! “We must forget Sheila in the duvets, that’s been dead for a long time, which does not mean that I will not sing the songs of the time, but they will be made up to date. You are going to see a show today, even if I sing “Bang-bang” or “Les Rois Mages”, it will have nothing to do with what you know of those songs. But on the other hand everyone can sing them, because the songs don’t change, what’s around changes, that’s what makes the difference.she added.

A need for vital change
A change that the interpreter of “You are the sun” made for her audience, but especially for her: “Otherwise I would have stopped”, she also confided in complete transparency to our colleagues. “I can’t remake the original version of ‘The Three Kings’ today, otherwise I’ll commit suicide. No kidding ! After that doesn’t mean that the song isn’t a hit, but the music evolves, the sounds evolve, and for me to have fun, it has to change”. That is what is said! A desire to surprise her fans which certainly explains why Sheila’s timeless discography delights festival-goers!
