As smiling as the late Jean-Pierre Pernaut, Jacques Legros does not, however, show jargon when something bothers him. If some doubted it, he has just put an end to questions from skeptics since the publication of his book Behind the screen 40 years spent in the media. A book in which he recounts many anecdotes, and in particular his relationship with Jean-Pierre Pernaut when they collaborated for the 13 hours of TF1. A relationship apparently not looking good according to his words.
The complicated period dates from 2020, at the time of the first confinement when Jean-Pierre Pernaut was “asked by the occupational doctor to stay at home”due to poor health. “We had therefore installed an automatic mini-studio for him at his home. But he wanted to keep the leading role and asked the team more than necessary”remembers the journalist before continuing: “For my part, I never knew what he was going to talk about. He was reluctant to share. He wanted more and more to take control of the whole newspaper. I was starting to boil inside, until the day when I broke out, gathered my things and made my way back to the parking lot and my car […] I came back, of course…”.
At the time of LCI
But in addition to having had some quarrels with the late ex-presenter of the JT of TF1, Jacques Legros almost came to blows with another of his colleagues. A chain boss well known to fans of Olympique de Marseille given that it is Jean-Claude Dassier, president of the Marseille club during the last coronation of champion of France. The journalist recalls: “Jean-Claude Dassier did not see the point of breaking the antenna (On the occasion of the Pope’s visit: editor’s note) […] I came back to the charge several times in the days and weeks leading up to the event. Each time, the refusal was clear, categorical, and ultimately violent.
“‘You’re starting to annoy me with your Pope!'”he would have launched before Jacques Legros really got out of his hinges: “Everything was going as planned. At least, following the boss’s instructions, until Jean-Claude Dassier bursts in like a fury and takes me to task : ‘Why are we not permanently live?’ ‘Because you asked me not to be’. ‘I never asked you that’. ‘Whether. You told me, contrary to what I asked you. ‘It’s wrong’. ‘No it’s true'”. An altercation that almost turned sour… “I suddenly felt my fist clench, ready to strike. If I did, I was fired on the spot.”he recalls before acknowledging that he had shown self-control to avoid big problems.
