We do not accept mourning, we live with it. Many people can testify to this after losing a loved one, and Frank is part of. Indeed, the emblematic candidate of the sixteenth season of “Love is in the meadow”, still hosted by Karine Le Marchand, moved her community this Thursday, July 13. The reason ? A publication in tribute to his deceased friend, whose disappearance he learned on July 13, 2011, in a strange way…
Before becoming a forester, Frank was a young volunteer and was able to forge very strong bonds with his fellow soldiers. This is why learning of the disappearance of one of them was very difficult to accept. “I was in the forest of Olonne (…) The phone vibrates and tells me that Mom called me. I’m surprised. It’s not her usual time. I answer and ask her if everything is fine “, remembers the candidate of the program animated by the one who could embark on comedy. His mother then asks him “with a voice distorted by emotion” : “Franck, your friend Techer, what was his first name?”. Quite surprised by the request of his mother, the ex-candidate of the program ofM6 whose new season is in danger immediately replies: “Emmanuel, why?”. His mother’s voice then derails.

Franck officially learns of the death of his friend in the “television section” of a supermarket
“Look at the news, I believe he is dead. He and several of his colleagues in Afghanistan were killed in an attack”, she tells him. Franck does not believe it for a second and“surprises at [se] to say that it is a mistake, a homonym perhaps”. Disturbed by the announcement, he still decides to run to his car and join“the large surface of Sables-d’Olonne, TV department”.
“And there, the shock. The photo of Manu on the front page of television news. I am paralyzed, destroyed, I can no longer speak”, he recalls, still bruised by this news. The ex-farmer of the program, in which a candidate for the new season is already a hit, then thinks of his friend’s parents. “How awful! I’m coming home. I cut all the phones and I start crying like a kid, for a time that I could not quantify”he continues, still dejected by this painful memory.
Following his sad story, Franck was able to count on the support of his community. This one did not fail to bring him his support to dry his tears on his cheeks always so wet.
