In The shores of memory published by Bouquins / Robert Laffont, Jean-Pierre Elkabbach recounts his journey through the streets of Oran, in Algeria, from his father’s press card for France Evening on which he puts his photo to attend events, his first report on Radio Algiers, on his debut at Paris Inter without forgetting the many times he was fired: from the ORTF, from Antenne 2 (twice), of France Televisions. But he assures him, “This book is not my will, but I want to leave a mark“.

At 85, he also looks back on all the greats of this world interviewed, from Anouar el-Sadat to Vladimir Poutine, from Charles de Gaulle to François Mitterrand. Jean-Pierre Elkabbach also distributes the good points and the slaps, in particular towards Jacques Attali and Jacques Chancel. He recounts, finally, what he learned in contact with the greats of this world: “If they are there, they deserve it. None usurped his power“, assures the journalist facing Laurent Valière on franceinfo.
