On October 15, Star Academy signed its big comeback on TF1… more than twenty years after the very first edition which revealed Jenifer. As two decades ago, it is the famous castle of Dammarie-les-Lys which welcomes the candidates and their teachers and the cast of this reboot is already more than promising.
A few days ago, a controversy erupted after a rather tense exchange between Laure Balon, the scenic expression teacher, and Julien, a candidate who had been nominated twice and then drafted by the public. Annoyed by the behavior of the latter, the professional of the scene did not hesitate to speak to him in a very dry way in front of everyone, which did not please the viewers who were obviously fans of the young man.
Star Academy: an embarrassing sequence resurfaces
Faced with the enthusiasm for the return of the show, old sequences with former students are currently resurfacing on social networks. On TikTok, a video showing a candidate from the first season named François is also causing a buzz because it is deemed “embarrassing”.
We see the candidate asking, in full prime, the people present in the public, to get up. “Blacks get up” he says before adding: “The North Africans raise their hands, the French raise their hands, the Asians raise their hands” and closing by saying: “but above all, human beings raise the hand”. Enough to cause discomfort in the public… and Internet users did not fail to perceive this feeling: “It’s incredibly stupid”, “I had contractions of discomfort in the stomach and the neck”, “The ball , it’s divisive as possible!”, “Discomfort”, “Nonsense”… can we read among the reactions.
