(Montreal) People 70 years of age and over can now make an appointment to receive a booster dose.
The appointment is offered to them, through the Clic Santé site, on condition that they received their last dose at least six months ago.
The date for making an appointment for this age group was initially set for November 23, but the Ministry of Health and Social Services indicated on Twitter that a change had been made to the calendar to advance the dated.
The national director of public health, Dr Horacio Arruda, explained earlier this month that the Quebec Immunization Committee observed a drop in immunity in those 80 and over where there is “perhaps a small increase in the rate of hospitalization. , which is not yet the case between the ages of 70 and 79 ”.
The 70 years and over still have access to the third dose “by prudence”, decreed Quebec.
People who have received two doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine, regardless of their age, will be able to sign up to receive one dose of an mRNA vaccine – either Pfizer’s or Moderna’s – starting November 25.
The six-month deadline since the last dose should also be observed in their case.
