This is the largest wildfire in the area since the start of the fires in the Jura.

250 people evacuated

250 people were evacuated from the village of Cernon, which is forbidden access. The electricity is cut in this municipality and the residents are supported since Thursday at the nautical base of Bellecin, on the edge of the lake. About thirty of them spent the night there and all are waiting to know when they will be able to return to their homes.

Two water bomber helicopters mobilized

Firefighters have been battling the flames for three days and three nights. 170 firefighters and 40 vehicles are mobilized and two water bomber helicopters also rotate in the sky to drop thousands of liters of water. The Canadaires mobilized on Thursday are no longer there this Friday. Dozens of farmers also support the firefighters to transport water with their tractors and their tanks. In addition, 30 gendarmes are deployed to secure the area.

Fire fixed to Cornod, the lightened device

In Cornod and Vosbles-Valfin, the fire is still fixed and destroyed 160 hectares, a stable balance since Thursday. 30 firefighters and 10 vehicles present on site are responsible for monitoring, drowning and extinguishing the fumaroles, also helped by local farmers.
