Good news for fans of fresh beer: Brouhaha d’Ahuntsic, well known and appreciated for its Belgian-inspired beers, now brews its hoppy creations on site.


The pub on Avenue Papineau and its owners – Sylfranc Côté, Marc Bélanger (brewer and former general manager of the now defunct MaBrasserie) and Annie Auger – are also inaugurating the new facilities, exactly for its ninth anniversary, this Saturday, April 6, from noon (bonus: children are now admitted).

On the program, an anniversary beer (aged for four years in an acacia wood barrel), the return of the legendary Gaz de course (strong beer at 12%, in two versions, one traditional, the other aged for four years in a Scottish whiskey barrel) and the arrival of the Désossée (Belgian triple hopped in the American style, like an IPA). Let’s also mention the new Arrakis, a tribute beer, with dune pepper, thought up even before Denis Villeneuve’s film was announced, it should be noted. On the menu side, we added oysters and a hearty plate of duck confit to the menu for the occasion, while the classics of poutine (including the decadent Poutiflette) and smoked meats (smoked and braised on site), remain.

Ultimately, these new facilities (which include a brewing system and fermenters upstairs, in addition to various holding tanks to clarify the beer, in the cellar) should allow Brouhaha better quality control. But also a certain diversity. We are also promised at least three or four new beers per year! Note that the beers from the microbrewery are obviously offered at the Brouhaha de Rosemont (avenue De Lorimier), but also in cans, in a few selected convenience stores, notably the Provi-Max (rue des Carrières), the Bièrologue (rue Ontario), but also Chez Gibb (in Rouyn-Noranda).
